Starting On Our Project

Last week, we were informed of this competition, thus we debated upon the theme of our project. After further discussions within our group, we decided on the theme - Historical Landmarks.

Today, after determining our theme, we contemplated locations that we could use. We each proposed several locations, and after much deliberation, we came up with a list of locations.

Here are the locations that we decided on :

1. Tiong Bahru

2. Haw Par Villa

3. Fort Canning

4. Dakota Crescent

5. Kampong Glam

6. Kranji War Memorial

7. Changi Museum

8. Kampong Lorong Buangkok

9. Old Ford Factory

10. CHIJMES

We also separated ourselves into three teams - the research team, the project narrative team and the website design team. The research team would focus on the research and content of the website, while the project narrative team would focus on the project narrative, bibliography and help with the editing of the research content. The website design team would focus on the colour scheming, fonts, interactives and blog of the website.

It would definitely be easier to work together and finish this project well with organisation.

We were pretty excited to start with this project because it looked really fun and fruitful.

The research team started research on the locations, and today they did the research for Haw Par Villa, Fort Canning and Dakota Crescent.

The narrative team looked at previous winners’ narratives to get an idea of how to write a good narrative.

Last but definitely not least, the website design team made the website. We determined the colour scheme of website and made the home page with selected colour combinations and font. We also looked at the past winners’ websites to get inspiration on how to organise the website.

Today was well spent and productive! We look forward to more sessions spent on this interesting project and we really anticipate everything that we can learn from this project.
